The City of Parma

The coat of arms consists of a shield with a blue cross on a gold field,
surmounted by the ducal crown and surrounded by the motto: quia hostis
turbetur Parmam virgo tuetur which translated means "the enemies tremble
because the Virgin protects Parma."
The phrase was coined to mark the victory of the troops besieging Parma
in 1248 led by emperor Frederick II.

Royal, built between 1821 and 1829 by the will of the Duchess Maria Luigia.
